We have installed 20 architect-designed bird breeding boxes and bird feeders for locally nesting birds. These are twenty “rooms" custom designed for the winged guests of the Marmelkroken lodge. Each bird box is built by highly skilled furniture carpenter Jes Uldahl, based on drawings by the architects at Biotope. At Marmelkroken we aim to welcome every guest in good style. Join us for a walk of the land, and see our multi species lodges.
We desire a deeper understanding of the delicate balance of the ecosystem we inhabit. Our operations are guided by a careful approach. Through experiences like foraging, cooking classes, nature walks, and birdbox exploration, we aim to forge a deep, lifelong connection to nature. And it makes us really happy to facilitate for birds, and by doing so, contribute to the much-needed improvement of living conditions for our migratory friends.
The walk can be adapted for special needs, by contacting us up front.
Marmelkroken is a beautiful and welcoming haven of nature and cultivated land. Located in a pristine area along the Norwegian Scenic Routes on the west coast of Andøy. Marmelkroken has been sustainably cultivated for centuries. Every generation aiming to leave the land in a better condition than the previous. Today the commitment to ecotourism and sustainability, fits very well with the age-old principles of the northern Norwegian fishing farmer. Our care for our environment allow us to welcome you to a place of wild biodiversity and abundant food sources. Marmelkroken is the place where you can experience, breathe, eat and drink the wild north. Welcome!
